COLLECTIONS : MODERN BRASS TREES

.

Can you believe it, Christmas is tomorrow! I'm not to sure how the holiday snuck up on us so quickly but they did. For todays post I stuck with a holiday theme and how wonderful is this collection of brass trees by Dwell Studio. Pretty amazing, right!? It's a nice balance or modern and minimalistic and I just love them all. So what types of little holiday collections are about your home this season? Happy Monday, Happy Christmas Eve!

SHERWIN WILLIAMS PAINT COMMERCIALS

.
We recently went to go see The Hobbit (which mind you was wonderful!) but before the movie came one we enjoyed watching a few previews. I love, love, love the previews, as silly as it sounds, but I do. This one, above, came up and I'm not to sure why I never paid more attention to Sherwin-Williams before, but this is fantastic! I'm intrigued with the animation and the artists in me loves that they used paint swatches to create the shapes of everything you see... you'll see. A few more below too. Enjoy & Happy Weekend!

WEAR WARE WHERE (49)

.

This purse is all kinda of lovely. Mint and polka dots and a complimenting brown, oh swoon! Perfect combination of colors and style. Aren't those hedgehog measuring cups adorable too. I don't think I could use cups these cute except for on display, but that wouldn't be oh so bad. And the ceiling of the York Minster Cathedral is beyond speechless. Wow! And make sure to link below to see more pics of that cathedral it's awesome. Happy Wednesday.

WHAT I WORE : MONOCHROMATIC DANCE MOVES

.
So I've never really been able to wear tall boots. Ankle boots, sure, but tall boots... almost up to my knee boots... sadly no. As cute as they come, these calves have never really been a fan of such. I've hunted high and low for the perfect boots but gave up that dream long again as each pair I loved and attempted to try on just bummed me out as the zipper just won't budge any higher… but then… then... there were these lovelies. And you know what, they fit, yippie!!! I've secretly (well not now, because you know) been doing a boot dance each time I put them on with the excitement that they actually fit me. Do you wear boots? Hope your weeks off to a great start! :)

* If you follow me via IG you will have seen that I have been trying really hard to get into shape and exercise daily. I won't lie, it's been a lot of work, but after a few weeks at the gym daily these calves are excited to sport new boots and I'm feeling a lot better about myself too. :)

ARTISTS : AMANDA VISELL'S STAR WARS CHARACTERS

.

Oh how I love the word of Amanda Visell. If you don't know of this lovely lady you need too. She is one of my favorite illustrators! I'm lucky to own a few of her vinyl pieces and one of her prints which hangs in the boys room... but let's chat about these Star Wars pieces. The boy has never seen Star Wars before, when he's 5 (in a few months) there is talks to let him see them all but lately he's just been brushing up on the character names, playing the Wii Lego game, looking at books, etc. The idea of a saber swords and x-wings has crossed his mind and seem to be on the Christmas list so when I spotted these pieces Amanda had done I pretty much flipped my lid and had to show them to him too. He was able to pick out which character was which. The boy liked Boba Fett and I kinda like the Chewbacca. I didn't share them all on the blog (but there were others too which you may see on her site) but which one is your favorite? To see more of Amanda's amazing illustrative works please visit her thru the links below. Enjoy and Happy Friday!!!

WHAT I WORE : WHITE & BLACK (PART 1)

.

So I did a bit of sweater shopping and recently feel in love with this sweater I had spotted over at Forever 21 (that's right, I'm well over 21 and happen to still shop their) but the pattern was just wonderful. You probably wouldn't have noticed unless you have this sweater too begin with, but it's actually inside out! While trying on a few of their sweaters I happened to realize the pattern was knitted so well it could be flipped inside out if you really wanted to wear it that way too. So with some patience and tiny scissors I snipped out all the labels and flipped it inside, and presto chango we have a dual purpose sweater in opposite color ways, score! Have you ever wore your clothing inside out?

If you haven't been to Lab Partners you surely need to pop over to their shop and take a peek around and take advantage of their 50% off holiday sale. COLLECTIONS : BELT BUCKLES

Happy Monday! I hope you had a lovely weekend. Todays collection of vintage belt buckles is quiet impressive, and colorful. Only over the last few years have I found myself wearing more decorative belts. Before this I would just grab any old belt which was my size; and one which would do the job of helping hold my pants up right and call it a day. Recently I've been accenting tops with a belt around the waist or a more decorative belt with my top tucked in. How do you wear your belt?

WHAT I WORE : PILGRIMESQUE

.
These pictures are a bit late, as they were from our Thanksgiving day morning ( a good week ago+) before we ventured to my BIL's house for our turkey day dinner. I felt a bit pilgrimesque with the collar an all, but I loved it! They was so much to be thankful for this year, especially those cute kiddos which were on the top of my list, but our holidays were spent with family, friends and good food which was much needed. And speaking of family, Happy Birthday to my Dad (Grandpa) today!!! We hope you have a wonderful birthday and we miss you dearly. Happy Friday all you sweet friends! :)

FOOD : GARDEN PASTA TOSS

.

Only over the last few years have I come to like pasta salad. Before this I was kinda was turned off by the idea of mixing things about in mayonnaise and eating an odd pasta concoction. This recipe from "Velveeta Creative Cooking" is a bit cheeser than normal pasta salad which may just have pushed me to changed my mind about pasta salad. Enjoy!

TAKE TEN TUESDAYS : LIGHTING 2

.

There are so many amazing types of light fixtures, pendants, side table lights, etc. I always want to buy lamps for our home but we can only use so many, and I'm sure we're past out limit. Numbers 7 and 1 really are my favs on here, something about the industrial look is so lovely. Happy Take Ten Tuesdays!

WEEKENDS VIA INSTAGRAM

Our weekends have been so busy lately and I don't find myself online as much; which is completely fine though as my little family needs more of the full attention. The kiddos are on the go go go and wake just before 6 daily (eck! and on weekends too!) and yes that makes it rough for sleeping in ever, hahaha but I'm sure the local donut shop loves us as we've been grabbing some tasty treats to kick off our eventful weekends. Penny is a chocolate glazed kiddo and Wyeth just started liking (mom's fav) Boston Cremes. What is your favorite donuts? Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
signature_blog2

  • Some guy I know just so happens to like chocolate chip cookies! So there was some baking, and taste testing of cookies ;)
  • I was never a fan of Pomegranates until my SIL brought one over last Fall and since then I've really enjoyed them.
  • The kiddos spent one morning bolting about the house as super heroes. Super capes thanks to Dawn
  • The girl seems to constantly have the bug, poor kiddo but she surely still looks adorable.
  • The mister and kiddos put the lights up on the house, we still need to get the inside decorations rolling, we've been slacking some because there are sooooo many to bring out.
  • We enjoyed tasty donuts from our favorite local shop - Johns Space Age Donuts!
  • Lacing Tommy lost his hand. Such a sad day when a toy breaks, now he can't hold his sword...
  • The girl and I shopped for the boy for Christmas gifts and found a collection of Legos! Thank you 10% weekends discount and 15% off coupons, because boy are Legos more than I though they were, ha!
  • What I typically wear Saturday mornings. Cozy, lazy, sleepy attire. See I don't always dress up...
  • But then I did share what I wore when I do dress up, red lipstick an all
  • Saturday night I had a girls night with Sara and we stopped by Noodles & Company for dinner, yum!
  • Hanging out in Sara's home is like living in a toy store/museum which is pretty awesome! I love her colorful wall of toys and that stacking totem by Gary Ham was so cute!
  • We were cracking up as we enjoyed Jon LaJoie's "Best Christmas Song" and we enjoyed more good laughs while watching Bridesmaids.
  • And I re-dyed my hair to look a bit more holiday appropriate, it's a marbled green/aqua
  • And who can forget Kuma (above), not ours, but Sara's sweet kitty!

COLLECTIONS : DEERS

.

Can you believe that it's December, where did November even go? I hope you had a lovely weekend. Todays collection is inspired by the holiday season; and this impressive collection of deers belongs to Shauna & Stephen of Something's Hiding In Here. Isn't this the most lovely grouping of plastic deers you've seen. I'm having a hard time choosing a favorite because they are all wonderful. The glitter silver ones pop out a bit to me, maybe we need a glitter reindeer this season. Have you put your Christmas decorations out yet?
