So between my hair going from a shade of aqua to red there was a cotton candy pinkish purple in there too. It wasn't long lasted, maybe a few days before it was phased out cause I was kinda unsure of it after I looked at it closely. It wasn't bad per say, but I'm not huge into pink so I just wasn't feeling it. An experiment if you will, and with it only being hair it was no big deal to change it to the red it is today. A few snapshots of the attempted cotton candy look before it was gone... and a recent thrifted cardigan and skirt which I'm loving lately! Enjoy :)

So lately I've been a bit scatter brained and unable to focus… I'm not going to lie about it because honestly I have nothing to hide… I'm human and I can't juggle it all at the moment. I have to be true to myself and realize I have had a lot going on in my life and focusing on the blog hasn't been on my top to do's… though I would love it to be. My focus is on the kids, schooling for this fall, weekly baby-sitting my nephew, our home life, enjoying family time, hanging out with friends, my love life, eating healthier, exercising daily, freelancing, work schedules, jobs focuses, life goals, missing family far away, telling those people I love I care about them, and now loss of family, and so on… so as you can see my life is a bit jumbled at the moment and I have had other priorities which come first and foremost over the blog. I will be traveling 2x this month and flying solo for one of them which scares the crap outta me (I'm not sold on flying in general) But I didn't want people to think I'm just giving up here, because I'm surely not. My focus is not fully here at the moment, so at times like this I just choose not to post as much. When I don't feel well organized there's no need to just throw something together for the sake of posting something. It's not how I like to roll and I do apologize for such... but when I have it all together, you'll surely know and I'll be here a lot more… but for the mean time I'll post when I can. I'm on IG if you want peek in on my life thru photos, which seems to be easiest on me lately since we're always snapping pictures daily in general. I hope you all have a wonderful week, I'll see ya all soon. :)

Life is sometimes unfair… And though I hate to bring negative to this blog, this space is also my personal journal to share what I feel is most important to me. Real life, my life, sometimes it isn't all roses. Today I'm ok, today I have sweet friends to make me smile and ease the heartache, but last night I wasn't so happy… miserable in fact and frustrated with life's curveballs it keeps throwing my direction. Now, I'm not posting this looking for attention or messages saying you're so sorry, but more as a reflection to myself that life is to sweet to take for granted. To live each day to the fullest and to be happy with all that I have. To do what I love. To be proud of myself. To show people I care thru the little acts of kindness which will make each day a bit brighter for myself and others around me. My cousin Ronnilynn lived like this… and sadly, and unexpectedly, yesterday, I lost my cousin. She was like an older sister to me and had been in my life for as long as I can recall. She will always continue to hold a special place in my heart. She was my family. I miss her dearly already and I know my family all misses her too. I know that she's in a better place now but it's still saddening to know life without her in it will be a little bit different…

This girl is an animal lover! And I can't tell you how determined she is to make Luna her best friend. She even calls herself Luna from time to time and asks us to pet her like a kitty. She makes all attempts to hug her, pick her up and kiss her, and in return the cat, which once a stray, and now and indoor house pet, calmly accepts Penny's sweet gestures. I'm glad the cat adjusted so well to us all. Surely the cat can only take so much from day to day, she's a cat so it's expected... and sadly the little miss has been the only one really scratched by the kitty, but she still pushes past the scratches and swatting paws and continues to go back and show more love day to day. I never thought I'd be so happy to own a cat (our childhood cat was not as sweet and made me a bit hesitant) but sweet Luna has changed that for all of us for sure.

"Wash it, Dry it, Braid it, Dye it..." Can you name that book? A long time ago I had red hair... and pink, purple, green, blue, white, black and so on. College days were filled with colored hair and I loved it! I was able to express myself thru my hair... did I mention I've also completely shaved it bald too. After graduating an stepping into a professional world I geared back from the color and went back with my natural brown, I figured job hunting would be a bit easier with a more neutral shades... but it never felt the same. As years passed and jobs changed I kept the brown but it was always in the back of my head to change it again, especially when I would see some amazing colored hair. Over a year ago I considered changing the color again (and my work seemed ok with such) and I was beyond excited for something new. It's changed a bit over the year and if you follow me via IG you would have seen it went from aqua to pink/purple and then quickly adjusted to all out RED... so there you have it, I'm a Redhead, for a bit. I thought with Valentines around the corner red would be a good color ;) Until the mood strikes and I change it again...

Happy Monday & Martin Luther King Day dear friends, I hope you had a lovely weekend. Todays shared collection is from Suzanne Scott of the Sushipot Art Objects 'n Life blog. She also has a wonderful curated vintage etsy shop where she sells some of these small collections and trinkets. This collection of vintage watercolor tins is quite lovely. I love how they are all used and preserved uncleaned with spots and inks from prior users. It's such a cool little collection and to see the little tin container lids, link on over to her blog for that photo. Enjoy and have a wonderful new week!

I recently decided to take my chances at a local thrift store which I use to love going to but lately had stayed clear of because they had removed their fitting rooms. It had saddened me to go in there because I couldn't ever try anything on. Slowly they grew quite an abundance of amazing clothing though. Well, recently, I took my chances and grabbed a handful of loose knit type dresses and skirts and just brought them to the counter, paid the lady and crossed my fingers that they'd all fit. Well they all did fit! This heart dress (but I actually think its more like a long top cause it's a bit to short for a dress) was amongst my favorite finds that day and I don't own any other heart pieces so it was a nice little add to my wardrobe for all of 3 bucks. I'm glad I stopped at that store and give it another chance...
Oh and if you're curious about my hair... it's no longer aqua, these were from last week ;)

A bit of color and illustrative research by artist Bubi Au Yeung to kick off the new week ahead. Enjoy!

Who knew paper clips could be so decorative, aren't these wonderful. Clipping together loose paper's or adding an extra special touch to a boring memo has never been more fun. I believe the diagram above is an illustration, don't quote me on that though. Unsure of the original source so I can't be to positive, but I have actually seen a fair share of these lovelies so I know some of them are surely real. There are other creative shapes out there far beyond these... things like cats, hearts or little airplanes. Do you own decorative paper clips? If so do you use them of keep them for a personal display or collection? Happy Monday dear friends. :)

This fun walkway is called "The Link". It's a huge glass walkways which is stretched between a span of buildings (connected to my work). It's really nice because you are able to walk about indoors from each location throughout any seasons. When it's snowing, it's especially nice, because I'm able to walk coat free, indoors and travel to the post office. The structure alone though is quite amazing. I love the blue toned beams, steps and flooring which are ever so soothing. In the Summers (or on a day like the one I shot these photos) when the sky is blue and clear, and the lighting from the sun hits the link just right, it gives your skin a nice aqua hue, which kinda matched my hair. ;) Happy Thursday!

Let's talk about plush, I LOVE PLUSH! I started making plush myself a few years back as gifts for friends because it was personal, fit within my budget and was handmade (which everyone loves handmade, right?). Well, I'm so very inspired by plush pieces and when I see another handmade plush artist that I really love it just tickles me pink. Do you know of Cat Rabbit? This Melbourne based textile artist has created some of the coolest looking creatures I've seen. Her work is just wonderful and each creation has their own character which I love. The turtle (below, bottom no.1) is by far my favorite!!! To see more of Cat Rabbit's work please follow the links below.

Our Christmas break came and went... and boy did it go fast! A bit over a week later and I still can't believe it's January. Now this year, like every other year we had big plans to send out a homemade holiday card of the kiddos. Before the holidays this was... but with family out of town, and the hustle and bustle of getting everything else (gifts) in order and shipped on time, this left us thinking less and less of the card... and sadly we didn't get to it this year, but there's always next year, right?! These two though! I'm so glad their friends. The photo above woulda made the cut for our holiday card. They have such character these two, that it's fun to watch them play and grow. There are at a great age and the present opening was a blast! And I'm so glad they had a wonderful break together. A few photos from that special day. Happy Friday!
