I've been excited and dreading this week for months. I'm a pretty private family person, keeping most of our close family details to myself but this week is "Wyeth Week!" Let me explain some... As most of you know we live in Kansas, apart from immediate family (parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, grandparents, etc.) and at times that makes life a bit tougher than you can imagine. I'm a big family person and before the kiddos were born, I had it set in my head, that if I was here in Kansas and had kids, that by the time age 5 came around we would start sending them home to family for a month over the Summers... yup you heard me right, a month!!! Wyeth's grandparents are divided between NJ and MA, and he see's them when they come to visit, once (or maybe twice) a year, which we're so thankful for, but we wish he could be around them more, so we opted for travel. We started to discuss traveling more a year ago and nailed down that Wyeth would travel home for a month (2 weeks between each family) to be able to see where his parents grew up, visit the beaches, hike thru the woods, meet cousins and other friends, and have a fun few Summer weeks to just themselves. There's no doubt this is going to be easy. I know it won't be. But I'm hoping for the best. I honestly think miss P will have the hardest time in this all, as she dislikes being away from big brother even if it's for a few hours. So Friday, Wyeth flys (don't worry he's not flying alone, heck no!) home for his month long adventures between 2 states to see family and friends. I've been a baby myself and already cried about it some, an how I won't seeing him daily, an the longest we've been apart was for a long weekend... but it will be ok... or so I keep telling myself this. And there is Facetime, and phones and photos. But how and when did this kid get so big on me? "Wyeth Week we're ready for you! And grandparents and other family out there, one very excited boy is overly ecstatic to come and see all of you very soon!"
Happy Monday sweet friends, I hope your weekend was lovely.

I've been collecting a slew of quotes/words lately. Positive phrases which stand out to me and help to keep me inspired. Be it at work, life at home, or in day to day activities some of these words help remind me to always put my best foot forward and keep pushing myself to be a better individual. Like the quote above, which was hand lettered by Mary Kate McDevitt. Her typography alone is beautiful but then the message itself is such a positive one to consider. To see more of Mary Kate's amazing work please click on the link below. Happy weekend sweet friends!

These playful illustrations are by artist Andreas Krapf. A German based illustrator/designer, who's works have been featured in many publications and on an impressive collection of apparel. All of his pieces are so unique, and though the medium may vary the styling has an overall bold and interesting look that sets it apart. I especially love the ice cream illustration above or the cute little tree people below. To see and learn more of Andreas work please link to his personal sites below. Enjoy and Happy Friday!

A bit of color inspiration for your week. Loving the colors in this offset eagle designed print by the French Paper Company. So bold, graphic, yet a wonderful balance to it all and still playful and fun. Enjoy!

There are so many ways to organize trinkets, jewelry, pictures, mini collections, etc. But lately I've spotted people incorporating crates into their decor. Like this one above by Rachel of Smile & Wave. Hung crates seem to serves as small vignetted display plus they are a super cute way to group fun like items. There are many other options out there, but I few tasteful displays I've spotted and loved.
p.s. did you notice a necklace in that display, thanks Rachel! :)

Brownie Balls are probably one of my new favorite sweet treats and super simple (an fun) to make. I made them for a close friends birthday a couple months ago and have found I've made them a couple more times since then just to fill my own personal sweet tooth. I can't eat a bunch of them, unless I am prepared for a complete sugar comatose, so I divide my brownie mixture into 1/4 of a tray after it's cooked and save a section to prepare brownie balls with. If you're having a party or would like larger (like the white ones below, golf ball size) balls then by all means use more of the mixture. Hope you enjoy them too.

Approx 1 hour  ||  Makes 30 Mini Brownie Balls per 9x9 Tray

1 Box of Brownie Mix + ingredients per package (I like to use Betty Crocker's Low Fat Brownie Mix)
Bakers Chocolate Bars (Chocolate or White per taste, I've used both)
Wiltons Chocolate Melts (Circle Colored Candy Melts)
1 Can (only a few scoops needed) of vanilla frosting

Prepare brownie mix as directed on packaging. Remove promptly after baking and break apart with fork in large bowl. Add a little scoop (start with small scoops) of frosting at a time into the brownie mix to help mixture stick together. You don't want it super gooey just enough to hold it together. Shape into larger "marble sized" balls. Place balls on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper (or wax paper). After all the balls are made place tray into freeze to harden. Meanwhile, melt chocolates, microwave on low heat for 30 seconds at a time, and stir occasionally. When brownie balls are frozen, drop one by one into chocolate mixture, coat and return to tray and refreeze. After all chocolate is hardened store in the fridge (uncovered is ok), eat, or add a decorative chocolate layer - like the striped layers pictures in my photos. I did this by melting chocolate and whipping it back and forth with a spoon. It's messy, fun, and they looked a little more special in the end.

** Please note I am not a professional baker and this is my own recipe. I found a few recipes out there for cake pops and adapted them all into one for my personal taste and use so feel to adjust this recipe and use to your taste. Enjoy

** The Red ones below are actually Red Velvet Cake Pops. They are kinda large! An I created them with the same method above, though I used cream cheese frosting and obviously red velvet cake.

It's Friday! An the weekend is upon you. Is your weekend already all planned out? Things to do, places to go, people to see, and so on, and so on, and so on... well I hope you have a bit of relaxing in there too. As life flies by I am constantly trying to remind myself "take a deep breath", "relax and sit down some" and "stop and smell the roses from time to time..." There's no hiding it though, I'm a person who's always thinking and planning ahead what's next on my agenda, I'm a multitasker at worst and juggle way to much on my plate, and it's hard for me to relax some but I do try... I'm getting better with time and some persuading. I figure if I keep reminding myself maybe it will surely click. Today I'm gonna try my best to stop and smell the roses, not literally, unless I hit up a grocery store and in that case I may buy myself some too but I hope to relax some. Have a wonderful weekend dear friends.

I'm currently on the hunt for a watch. I use to wear one often but the battery has since died and the face is a bit scratched to bits so I think it's about time for a new one. There are so many out there and picking the perfect one is a bit overwhelming I think. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. that narrowing it all down makes me think, where do I even begin. Here was a few I found in neutral (almost all whitish) tones. If you wear a watch, what color is is?

So do you know of Electric Guest? Sure you do, right? Well if not they are a newer group, California based and they are all kinds of awesome. Their debut album "Mondo" was released a little over a year ago and since then I've been hooked. They are probably listened to most in my playlist and the song "Waves" which doesn't have a video is one of their more popular from the album (which I love) but all in all every song is great! I hope you enjoy them too. Happy Friday, Happy weekend!

Oh how I love clogs and boy oh boy are those ones gorgeous! After becoming a cat owner, since last July, I've been eyeing cat themed products... and this black patterned top is a bit mod with a touch of awesomeness and I would so love to own it. And the architecture on the "where" is unreal. It is known as the Museo Soumaya, (a museum) in Granada Mexico. As always you can find the links and more below. Enjoy and Happy Wednesday!

Hey you? Ya you! So maybe you feel a mess today and not all put together. I'm sure it's not half as bad as you're making it out to be. There are many of times I've felt a mess myself, don't we all. Especially at moments like last weekend when I found a lovely fruit roll up piece stuck to the butt of my pants and when I notice it half way thru the afternoon I thought "great, well how longs that been there! and everyones surely seen it", hahaha. But all in all, we all have our moments of being unsure of how we look... but today, "you're looking particularly good today". Take a look at yourself in the mirror and remind yourself you look good. Because you do. Even if you don't think so, I'm sure you do. Have a lovely day all you good looking people you. Happy Tuesday!

What did your weekend look like? Happy Monday dear friends.
